Dr. Steve Wills, Veterinarian/Owner
Fueled by a strong passion to work with animals and horses in particular, Dr. Wills established Wills Animal Hospital in 1992 with his wife, Dr. Teresa Wills. After earning his DVM from Auburn University in 1983, Dr. Wills was the resident veterinarian at Calumet Farm in Lexington, Ky. His primary interests are equine sports medicine and surgery. Dr. Wills is past-president of the KVMA, and currently a delegate the AVMA and member of AAEP.
With over 30 years in the field, he loves developing relationships with clients and their animals.
Dr. Wills and his wife have two children, Matthew and Emily, as well as four dogs named Dixie, Chandler, Jill, and Nettie and a cat named Fluffy. In his free time, he enjoys road biking, hiking and snow skiing.
Dr. Teresa Wills, Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Wills knew she wanted to become a veterinarian after looking up to her father, who bred beagles. Years later, she pursued her dream and established Wills Animal Hospital with her husband, Dr. Steve Wills. She earned her DVM from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University. To stay up-to-date with the latest in veterinary medicine, she attends numerous continued education conferences annually.
She enjoys getting to know her clients and their pets and welcoming new experiences and challenges that every day brings.
When she’s not caring for pets at Wills Animal Hospital, Dr. Teresa Wills cares for her own fur babies, including Nettie, her constant companion Yorkshire Terrier and Nettie’s best friend, a house cat named Fluffy. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and children, Matthew and Emily; attending music festivals; snow skiing; hiking and directing at Theatre Workshop of Owensboro.
Dr. Cindy Wolfe, Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Wolfe’s love of animals and their care began at an early age, which is what led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In 1994, she joined Drs. Steve and Teresa Wills and became a partner of the hospital in 2001. She earned her DVM from Auburn University and has since attended numerous continuing education meetings.
One of her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is caring for her patients, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and interacting with her clients. She especially loves working with puppies and dealing with the challenging cases involved. Over the years, she has welcomed the opportunities she’s had to make a difference in the lives of pets by improving their quality of life, giving them more quality years with their owners.
Dr. Wolfe shares her home with her husband, Buck; and their children, Katie, Kara, and Haley. She’s also the proud pet mom of four cats, Timmy, Moonlight, Kindle, and Tiger; dogs, Willy, Jill, Milton, and Foxy; horses, Grubb, Cracker Jack, and Baxter; and two Betas. When she’s not at Wills, she enjoys spending time with her children, doing yard work, reading, and watching old TV shows.
Dr. Hillary Henson, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Henson joined the team in 2007 as a large animal veterinarian, certified in large and small animal chiropractics. She earned her DVM from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Her love for animals—particularly horses—began while growing up on a farm and showing Quarter Horses. Now, she loves being able to help her patients achieve their full potential and educating their owners.
Her own pets include Quarter Horses, JJ, Toby, Twister, Sadie Rose, and Pembroke; and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Emrys. Dr. Henson spends her spare time at the barn with her horses or playing Frisbee with Emrys. She also loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Dr. Brian Kennedy, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Brian Kennedy joined Wills Animal Hospital in January of 2016. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and is a member of the AVMA, ISVMA, AAEP and the KVMA.
Dr. Kennedy enjoys getting to know both his patients and their owners and finds it especially rewarding keeping his patients healthy. In his off duty hours he enjoys the company of Livvy the chocolate Lab and his horses as well as time spent with family and friends, particularly if it involves outdoor activities.
Dr. Candice Wardrip, Associate Veterinarian
Candice Wardrip joined Wills Animal Hospital full time in July of 2015, coming to us with a DVM from the Univ. of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She is active in many organizations including the AVMA and the CVM (Christian Veterinary Missions). Her interest in medicine started early in life, raising dairy goats and being active in both 4H and FFA. Now her goals include providing high quality care to the animals she sees and being able to relate to their owners to create a good quality of life for all those in her care.
Outside of work she enjoys a wide variety of activities including sewing, crocheting, kayaking and hiking which led to memorable adventures backpacking in New Zealand and spending time in Australia. She shares her home with her husband Allan, their bloodhounds Ellie Mae and Cletus, Ciervo the terrier mix, Pigu the Chihuahua, and their horses – Sandy, Sugar, Willie and Buck.
Dr. Katie Williams, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Katie Williams joined the staff of Wills Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian at the end of May 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a member of the AVMA and the CVM. Her desire to help people and animals led her to do Veterinary mission work in Costa Rica and seeing the Costa Rican rain forest was an amazing experience. She shares her life with her dog, Maggie, who is a beagle mix and in her spare time she enjoys reading for both work and leisure, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys the friendly, hard-working staff here at Wills Animal Hospital and the excellent mentoring she receives from the staff doctors. Getting to know her clients and their pets and making a positive difference in their lives is her favorite part of being a veterinarian.
